Introducing The Math That Clicks Club: Your Home for Five-Star Math Lessons That Actually Click.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
HOW DOES YOUR TYPICAL MATH LESSON GO?
①
Diving straight into the lesson cold. No warm-up, no entry point. Just “To find the square root of 9, do this…”
②
Talking for 20 minutes and hoping it landed. You know the kind of lesson I mean. You explain the steps. You model a few examples.
③
You ask, “Does that make sense?” and the room is quiet enough to convince you that maybe… possibly… hopefully… they got it.
④
Passing out a nice warm worksheet with 30 problems practicing the same skill in the same way, just with different numbers (EEEE-YUCK!).
Fortunately, there's a better way to teach math!
Imagine if you had tools to...
What if the entire process for planning a math lesson was done?
You are going to save HOURS of lesson planning once you learn the Math That Clicks way.

Part 1:
Give Students A Way In
-
Start each lesson by giving students a way in...research shows that students need something to grab onto before we throw the new content at them. Which is why I have a safe start for every 7th grade math lesson.
-
All you need to do is click and display the lesson.
⏰ Prep Time: 0 Minutes
Part 2:
Give Students A Reason To Care
-
Next, you'll continue the lesson by giving students a reason to care using a curiosity hook.
-
All you need to do is click play on the lesson video and use the already prepped discussion questions to get your students hooked.
⏰ Prep Time: 0 Minutes!
Part 3:
Give Students A Path to Follow
-
Then, you'll continue the lesson by giving students guided notes
-
All you need to do is print the guided notes in advance (I also hole punch them so students can put them into binders).
⏰ Prep Time: 10 Minutes (unless the copier is your arch nemesis and jams five seconds before the bell rings)
Part 4:
Give Students Practice That Makes Them Think
-
Next, instead of giving students 30 look-alike problems, you'll give them a smaller set that includes solving, matching, explaining, error analysis, and a real-world situation.
- You'll receive a wealth of Practice That Clicks worksheets and activities that engage them in purposeful practice.
⏰ Prep Time: Varies. (Some are instant, while others are a little longer, but always way under 30 minutes or less.)
Part 5:
Give Yourself Information Before Tomorrow
-
Then, you'll end the lesson with an exit ticket to quickly see what students understood while the lesson is still fresh, so you can make a better decision tomorrow.
⏰ Prep Time: As long as it takes to hit print and slice them in half.

Hey, I’m Asia!
If you've taken a glance at my social media, you know I'm a big believer in having fun and making learning fun. Self-proclaimed “fun” auntie, former middle school math teacher, curriculum designer and social media enthusiast!
I created The Math That Clicks Club because I knew teachers did not need another folder of random worksheets.
They needed complete lessons that gave students a way in, a reason to care, clear instruction, meaningful practice, and a quick way to see what clicked.
I'll see you inside!!

Thank you so much for sharing this post! I am a resource teacher in a middle school, and I have used your guided notes and activities to teach and reinforce concepts, especially for my struggling 8th graders. This blog post is a really neat insight into how you use your resources in your classroom. I especially love all the different types of activities — hands-on, guided notes, and digital — as they allow students to experience the concepts in such different ways. Please keep blogging about what you are doing in your classroom, and please allow me to “steal” (purchase your resources, use ideas from your blog) ideas for my own classroom!

Oh my gosh! This is hilarious! Thanks so much for this entertaining and meaningful way to teach this concept. My kids LOVED this, and it stuck with them! Thank you for sharing your amazing creativity!

I love these tips! And the ski video is such a great visual way to introduce slope. Thank you for this! Even the idea that m means mountain. I can’t believe I’ve never thought of that! Students often have a hard time remembering that it means slope since m has no connection to slope. Can’t wait to teach this lesson in a couple of weeks!
